T- aims to simplify the recording of date-oriented information - information which has a date attached to it.
Lots of things we write down have a date associated with them. Some everyday examples include:
The main page of T- is a humble calendar. Everyone knows what a calendar looks like: A table with days of the week as columns and weeks of the year as rows.
The Calendar in T- allows a seamless, keyboard-centric editing experience. No clicking on a cell to edit it (although you can of course do this).
T- is for people who want to write down lots of date-oriented information really quickly, and to organise that information in a way which makes it easier to search for things later.
For example:
Explaining why someone should use T- is a bit like explaining why someone should keep a diary. But T- is more than just a calendar or a diary - it's anything you can put a date to. In T-, we call any information which has a 'date column' a d-table.
T- started off just as a simple calendar app.
The authors were frustrated by the lack of a simple yet elegant commercial calendar application: The calendar apps they saw were either too clunky, requiring the user to actually click on a cell before they could edit it.
Frustrated by these limitations, they decided to develop their own.
T- is developed and maintained by Orthogonal, a software company based in Sydney, Australia.
T- is pronounced 'tee dash'.
